The project was to reduce the capital and operating costs of pumping stations in the Coffs Harbour area, while at the same time increasing compliance and solving OH&S issues.
To do this they decided to design and build their own switchboards and needed a custom design enclosure, built to tight tolerances and with a high level of repeatability. This would not only reduce capital cost, it would also mean that all switchboards looked the same, ensuring that operators would know exactly the equipment that was installed, and where it was positioned.
B&R designed and manufactured custom enclosures to Coffs Harbour City Council specifications which were manufactured on our automated machines to ensure that each one met tight tolerances required.
Coffs Harbour City Council not only saw a capital cost reduction of over 50%, but also reduced operating costs dramatically. OH&S issues were also solved as every switchboard looked and behaved the same. This meant that operators needed less training, and times to repair were significantly shorter.
